GENERAL RULES SUMMARY

Jack & Jills (J&J)

• Competitors may compete as Leader/Follower in skill levels.

• Non-dominant roles are allowed one level down.

• Entry into Champions J&J follows the current WSDC rules, requires a minimum of 150 AllStars points in one role, or 1 Champions points.

 

Pro/Am Routine Exhibition

• 60% minimum swing content, duration: 1:30–3:00 minutes.

• Lifts/drops allowed but optional, with max 8 beats of breakaway.

 

Rising Star

• Amateur and rising professionals routines only, 70% swing content.

• Max 5 partner weight supports, duration: 2:00–3:00 minutes.

 

Showcase

• For ages 18+, 60% swing content with no limit on lifts.

• Min 3 partner supports; duration: 2:00–3:00 minutes.

Classic

• Ages 18+, 80% swing content, no lifts.

• Max 5 partner weight supports; duration: 2:00–3:00 minutes.

Team

• West Coast Swing only, duration: 3:00–4:00 minutes.

• Includes 4 couples minimum.

 

Strictly Swing

• 100% West Coast Swing, improvised lead and follow, no acrobatics/lifts are allowed.

• Breakaways max 8 beats, chosen music by DJ.
